Checkers
Classic 8×8 checkers: diagonal moves, mandatory jump captures, multi-jump chains and king promotion. Play versus the AI or two players on one device.
Checkers is the timeless board game of diagonal moves and leaping captures, played here on a full 8×8 board against the computer or with a friend on the same device. It looks simple, but forced jumps and long capture chains create sharp swings — one careless move can hand your opponent three pieces at once.
How to play
Tap one of your pieces to light up its legal destinations, then tap a highlighted square to move there. Pieces advance diagonally and capture by jumping an adjacent enemy into an empty square beyond it. Captures are mandatory: if a jump is available you must take it, and during a multi-jump your piece stays selected until the chain is complete. Leave your opponent with no legal move and you win.
Tips
- Because captures are forced, you can bait the AI into a jump that sets up a bigger recapture for you.
- March a piece to the far row to crown a King, which moves and captures in both directions.
- Look for multi-jump chains — clearing several pieces in one turn is the fastest way to swing the game.
- Keep your back row intact early to deny the opponent easy king promotions.
